Now available for free on my site: Good karma.
I added a feature called SocialVibe that lets you complete quick little activities (like a 5-question quiz or a short video about a project) to earn donations for a charitable cause. Your time = money for the cause. You’ll see it in the right-side column of ThoughtsInOrder.com.
I just discovered this today and figured it looks legit enough to post, so let’s test it out together. Please share your experiences with it in the comments. For example, I’ve noticed that sometimes the series of activities seems to hang up, and I found that if I go back to my site and reclick the button, it restarts it and the activity I already completed gets counted. Also, I discovered that you don’t have to follow the “more info” links or sign up for anything for your donation to be counted, so if a segment doesn’t interest you, move on.
So the SocialVibe widget will be there whenever you pop over to my site, and if you’ve got 5 extra minutes, maybe you’ll donate them. I’m thinking I’ll change the cause we’re supporting every month or so, since there are so many good ones out there, but it will always be related to my work in some way. First up: The Partnership for a Drug-Free America. (Hint: Related to my blog post publishing tomorrow at noon EDT.)
